FAQ 5 day trek

1. Is the five day trek in Sumatra safe?

Yes- safety is the priority. All our treks are led by licensed, experienced local guides trained in navigation, wildlife awareness and first aid. Routes and camps are chosen daily based on weather, river levels and group condition to minimise risk.

2. What is the difference between a 4 day trek and a 5 day jungle trek?

The 5 day trek travels deeper into the Gunung Leuser National Park, reaching more remote areas with fewer visitors. It allows a slower pace, longer wildlife observation, and a more immersive rainforest experience compared to the 4 day trek.

3. How difficult is the 5 day jungle trek?

The 5 day trek is physically and mentally more demanding than shorter options, due to cumulative fatigue and remoteness. Daily walking distances are manageable, but the extended duration, humidity, and terrain require good stamina and a positive, flexible mindset.

4. How remote is the 5 day jungle trek?

The trek is very remote, with no phone signal or facilities for most part of the journey. This remoteness is part of the experience, offering complete disconnection and a deeper sense of wilderness. Guides carry essential equipment and plan routes carefully to maintain safety.

5. Is the 5 day jungle trek in Bukit Lawang worth it?

For guests seeking a true rainforest immersion, the 5 day trek is extremely rewarding. The remoteness, slower pace, and extended time in the jungle often results in richer wildlife encounters and a deeper appreciation of the ecosystem and local guiding knowledge.
