FAQs 1 Day Trek
1. Is the 1 day trek suitable for children or older travellers?
Yes. The 1 day trek is a very suitable option for families with children and for older or less confident walkers. The trek route and pace will be adjusted by our team to suit your family or groups need. We have an ergobaby carrier for any little ones needing to be worn. The trek can return on foot or by traditional jungle raft; in which case, we have life jackets available for all ages.
2. What is the difference between a private and group 1 day trek?
A private trek is exclusively for your booking, with your own guide and porter(s). A group trek means you join other travellers and follow a shared pace and route.
3. How physically demanding is the 1 day trek?
The 1 day trek involves walking on uneven jungle paths with some steep ascents and descents. The weather plays a big factor in your experience; if it's sunny you're challenged with the heat, if it's raining you're challenged by the wet trails. Either which way, our team will be there to support you every step of the way.
4. What wildlife can we expect to see on a 1 day trek?
Orangutans are commonly seen on the 1 day trek, along with monkeys, birds, snakes, tropical insects, and stunning jungle vistas. Wildlife sightings are never guaranteed, as animals are wild and free-roaming.
5. Does the 1 day trek include jungle rafting back to Bukit Lawang?
Yes. The trek finishes with a traditional river rafting experience back to Bukit Lawang, weather and river conditions permitting. We can come back on foot, however viewing the jungle from the river is one of the most memorable parts of the trek!
